The Minister of Territorial Administration (MINAT), Paul Atanga Nji, is currently in Equatorial Guinea ahead of the Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS), focusing on the humanitarian situation in Central Africa.
This high-level meeting, which began on January 31, 2025, at the Sipopo International Conference Centre, aims to assess humanitarian efforts across the sub-region.
Since his arrival, MINAT, along with other ministers responsible for humanitarian affairs, has been participating in discussions on the Protocol of the Peace and Security Council of Central Africa (COPAX). COPAX serves as an early warning and collective security system, designed to enable preventive, rapid, and effective responses to crises and conflicts in Central Africa. The protocol, which focuses on crisis and conflict management, was revised in 2019 to enhance its effectiveness.
On February 5, 2025, MINAT also took part in the ECCAS Council of Ministers, which included ministers responsible for humanitarian action, foreign relations, defense, security, and ECCAS experts. Set to conclude the summit on February 7, 2025, this council serves as a precursor to the extraordinary session of ECCAS Heads of State and Government.
